V.N.O. Aruba

The building for the Representative of The Netherlands in Aruba is located on a triangular plot on a busy main road, the L.G. Smith Boulevard. The building consists of two rectangular structures at angles to each other, linked together with the entrance in the middle. This composition ensures that the building harmonizes well with the plot and surroundings. On the south side of the building there are large shuttered screens that can be extended to shade the interior from the sun. Along the north elevation, a wall with narrow vertical openings has been placed in front of the wide glass windows to restrict the public’s view.
